In vitro degradation of neurotensin in human plasma

Peptides, 1986
To study the degradation of neurotensin in plasma in vitro, fresh human plasma was incubated with neurotensin in the presence and absence of the peptidase inhibitors pepstatin A, EDTA, PMSF and aprotinin. The half-time of disappearance of neurotensin at 37 degrees C was calculated to be 226 min in vitro as opposed to 1.4 min in vivo when measured by ...

In vitro model for the degradation of alkylcyanoacrylate nanoparticles

Biomaterials, 1990
A photometric assay was developed to study the surface erosion of polymeric nanoparticles. The hydrolytic degradation of polyalkylcyanoacrylate particles was studied in different environments (NaOH, buffer, cell culture medium and serum). The influence of particle modification on the degradation rate was assessed.

In vitro degradation of Polyactive® 1000PEOT70PBT30 devices

Biomaterials, 2002
Polyactive 1000PEOT70PBT30 (a segmented block copolymer of poly(ethylene oxide terephtalate)/poly(butylene terephtalate) with 70/30 PEOT/PBT ratio) was processed into three different types of samples: injection molded to rods, hot-pressed to films and to composite membranes made by hot-pressing a tubular mesh of poly-L,D-lactide 96/4 between two films ...

A study on the in vitro degradation of poly(lactic acid)

Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition, 1994
The in vitro degradation of samples of L- and D,L-lactic acid polymers, P(L)LA and P(DL)LA respectively, having different molecular weights, morphology and/or geometry, has been studied through the determination of viscometric molecular weight, mass and mechanical properties as function of the immersion time in Ringer solution at 37 degrees C.

In vitro degradation of ribosomes.

Archivos de biologia y medicina experimentales, 1977
The cytoplasmic ribosomes from Euglena gracilis var. bacillaris are found to be of two types taking into consideration their stability "in vitro". In the group of unstable ribosomes the large subunit is degraded. The other group apparently does not suffer any degradation under the conditions described.

Degradation of Luting Cements Measured in vitro

Journal of Dental Research, 1982
The degradation of luting cements was made visible and measurable when these cements were held as a cement layer, The degradation process, which is mostly a sequence of absorption disintegration and solution, could be expressed in a time-constant (r).

Protein C Degradation in vitro by Neutrophil Elastase

Biological Chemistry Hoppe-Seyler, 1991
Purified protein C is completely degraded into small peptides by in vitro incubation with purified elastase. Protein C is a rather sensitive substrate as degradation is already accomplished by low elastase concentrations (molar enzyme-to-substrate ratio 1:510) and short incubation periods (5 min-60 min).

In Vitro Degradation of Insulin-like Peptide 3 by Insulin-degrading Enzyme

The Protein Journal, 2010
Insulin-like peptide 3 (INSL3) is an insulin superfamily peptide hormone, primarily expressed in the testes and playing a key role in the fetus testes descent and suppression of male germ cell apoptosis. Insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE) is a zinc-metalloprotease, responsible for in vivo degradation of insulin, Abeta, and other peptide hormones.

Degradation of cadmium metallothionein in vitro by lysosomal proteases

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1992
The effects of various protease inhibitors on the degradation of cadmium metallothionein (Cd-MT) by lysosomal proteases were studied in vitro. Degradation of Cd-MT was observed after incubation with the lysosomal extracts, but not after incubation with the cytosol or heat-treated lysosomal extracts.

Degradation of High-Density Lipoproteins (HDL) In Vitro

Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 1974
An isolation procedure is described in which, in the presence of a SH-blocking agent, DTNB, LP-B, and albumin-free HDL2 and HDL3 were isolated. Subfractionation on hydroxylapatite column chromatography of HDL2 and HDL3 respectively, gave three parent fractions of characteristic polypeptide composition.
