Exome Sequencing Reveals the Genetic Architecture of Non‐syndromic Orofacial Clefts and Identifies BOC as a Novel Causal Gene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nonsyndromic orofacial clefts (NSOFCs) are the most common craniofacial defects. Exome sequencing of 214 sporadic cases sheds new light on its genetic architecture and identifies many candidate pathogenic variants. Furthermore, functional studies establish BOC as a novel causal gene and reveal an unusual two‐locus model of inheritance via the epistatic

IncRNA‐ZFAS1, an Emerging Gate‐Keeper in DNA Damage‐Dependent Transcriptional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LncZFAS1 plays a crucial role during DNA damage response in mammalian cells. Loss of lncZFAS1 results in deficient DNA lesion removal and reduced cell viability. Mechanistically, lncZFAS1 modulates RNAPII phosphorylation and transcription and thereby promotes both GG‐NER and TC‐NER upon UV damage.

Ruptured Tubal Triplet Heterotopic Pregnancy After in Vitro Fertilisation: A Case Report

open access: yesGynecology Obstetrics & Reproductive Medicine, 2011
To analyse the incidence, diagnostic and therapeutic management of heterotopic pregnancy following in vitro fertilisation (IVF). We present a case who had a ruptured left tubal heterotopic triplet pregnancy at nine weeks of gestation following in vitro ...

Manipulation of bicarbonate concentration in sperm capacitation media improves in vitro fertilisation output in porcine species

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, 2019
Background The in vivo concentration of bicarbonate (HCO3 −), one of the essential sperm capacitating effectors, varies greatly in the different environments sperm go through from cauda epididymis to the fertilisation site.

Effect of lifestyle or metformin interventions before IVF/ICSI treatment on infertile women with overweight/obese and insulin resistance: a factorial design randomised controlled pilot trial

open access: yesPilot and Feasibility Studies, 2023
Background For infertile women with overweight/obesity and insulin resistance (IR), it is uncertain whether intervention before infertility treatment can improve live birth rate (LBR).

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) versus conventional in vitro fertilisation (IVF) in couples with non-severe male infertility (NSMI-ICSI): protocol for a multicentre randomised controlled trial

open access: yesBMJ Open, 2019
Introduction Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), originally introduced as add-on to in vitro fertilisation (IVF) for couples with severe male infertility, is in current clinical practice also used in couples with mild male or even unexplained ...

Genetic Deconvolution of Embryonic and Maternal Cell‐Free DNA in Spent Culture Medium of Human Preimplantation Embryo Through Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DECENT is a deep learning method that enhances noninvasive preimplantation genetic testing by accurately reconstructing embryonic copy number variations (CNVs) from cell‐free DNA in spent embryo culture media. By mitigating maternal contamination, DECENT improves diagnostic accuracy, even with high contamination levels, offering a reliable, noninvasive

DNA‐PKcs‐Driven YAP1 Phosphorylation and Nuclear Translocation: a Key Regulator of Ferroptosis in Hyperglycemia‐Induced Cardiac Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

Long-term GnRH agonist therapy before in vitro fertilisation (IVF) for improving fertility outcomes in women with endometriosis.

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2019
BACKGROUND Endometriosis is known to have an impact on fertility and it is common for women affected by endometriosis to require fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), to improve the ...
