In vivo studies with antisense oligonucleotides

Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 1997
The ability of short, synthetic, single- stranded DNA or RNA oligonu- cleotides to interdict individual gene expression in a sequence-specific manner is the basis for antisense oligonucleotide-based therapies (for recent reviews see Refs 1,2). Unlike traditional drugs which typically interact with proteins, these oligonu- cleotide molecules are ...

Study of In Vivo Plaque Formation

Journal of Dental Research, 1976
A technique was developed by which plaque accumulations on intraoral artificial surfaces could be viewed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Micrographs of two plaque specimens from a given individual appeared similar; however, plaque specimens from different individuals encompassed a wide range of variation in terms of content and thickness.

In Vivo Studies of Mitochondrial Respiration

1978
In the course of an investigation of adding new collateral blood flow to the cortex of ischemic patients, the point was raised as to whether an increase in cortical oxygen tension would lead to improved oxygen utilization and energy production. If so, this might at least partially supply an explanation for improved neurologic function.

In Vitro and In Vivo Studies on Glucagonoma Tissue

Hormone and Metabolic Research, 1980
A 66 year old patient with diabetes had a necrolytic migratory erythema, weight loss and anaemia. Plasma immunoreactive glucagon (IRG) of 2465 pmoles/l (normal 35 +/- 5 SEM pmoles/l) suggested the existence of a glucagonoma which was confirmed by arteriography and subsequently removed by surgery.

Impedance Analyzer for in vivo Electroporation Studies

2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006
Electroporation, the permeabilization of the cell membrane with electrical pulses, is being used for in vivo gene therapy, drug therapy and minimally invasive tissue ablation. Applying electrical pulses across cells can have a variety of outcomes; from no effect to reversible electroporation to irreversible electroporation.

Ex Vivo and In Vivo Study of Nanoemulgel for Psoriasis

International Journal of Drug Delivery Technology
Psoriasis, with its complex pathophysiology and the limited efficacy of current treatments, necessitates focused and innovative research. In response, our group has developed a new nanotherapeutic system that uses the natural bioactives Psoralen and Diosgenin.
