Balancing Fire Regimes and Population Dynamics for the Conservation of a Microendemic Lizard From a Biodiversity Hotspot

Disturbance from fire mediates a potential ecophysiological trade‐off between adult performance and juvenile recruitment in the microendemic lizard Ameivula jalapensis. While open, burned habitats enhance adult thermoregulation and condition, unburned patches remain critical for juvenile thermal optima.
