Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

Electrochemical Control of Scholl Reaction: Arenium Cation Versus Radical Cation Pathways

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Electrochemical control of Scholl reactions allows selective access to the arenium cation and radical cation pathways via low‐potential acidic (LPA) and high‐potential neutral (HPN) conditions, respectively. This control reveals that most substrates react through both pathways, albeit with clear preferences, and provides an experimental foundation for ...

Textes brefs de Le Clézio: incertitudes et lueurs

open access: yesCarnets, 2011
In Le Clézio, the figures of in-between-two are paradoxes operating to make litterature a space of doubt. The weaving of patterns contributes to a paradoxal aesthetics of sparkle and link.

Choice experiments on land managers' participation in environmental programs: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of estimate validity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Discrete choice experiments are increasingly being used to estimate land managers' willingness to accept participation in incentive‐based environmental programs. This is a specific application of discrete choice experiments: the estimation of willingness to accept for a private good (program participation) where respondents have to make trade ...

Double Reduction of Ph3B to a Dianionic Borane With a Powerful SrI Intermediate

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Although dianionic boranes follow the octet rule and are isoelectronic to carbanions or amines, the high electron density combined with the electropositive nature of the B center make them highly unstable species. In this study, we present synthesis and full characterization of a complex in which Ph3B2− is sandwiched between two Sr2+ ions and describe ...

Palatability of geophyte underground storage organs partially explains their depth in the Cape Floristic Region, geophyte capital of the world

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise The soil depth of underground storage organs (USOs) of geophytes involves cost–benefit trade‐offs and may relate to USO age, size, and disturbances such as fire and herbivory. Yet determinants of USO depth are poorly studied. We posit that belowground mammalian predation of USOs is a selective force for the positive relationship ...

B/ordering and healthcare access for migrants with precarious status: The role of healthcare workers in counteracting restrictive policies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract In Canada, precarious migration is largely invisibilized. Nonetheless, b/ordering greatly affects people's realities by limiting access to social rights. In Quebec, migrants with precarious status (MPS) do not have access to healthcare, although Quebec has a “universal” healthcare coverage.
