Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Incidence structures of type $(p, n)$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
summary:Every incidence structure ${\mathcal J}$ (understood as a triple of sets $(G, M, I)$, ${I}\subseteq G \times M$) admits for every positive integer $p$ an incidence structure ${\mathcal J}^p=(G^p, M^p, \mathrel {{\mathrm I}^p})$ where $G^p$ ($M ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Approaching Some Problems in Finite Geometry through Algebraic Geometry

open access: yes, 2009
In the study of finite geometries one often requires knowledge the ranks of related (0,1)-incidence matrices. We describe some of the combinatorial questions in finite geometry for which formulas for these ranks are useful; and we describe methods from ...

On the incidence graph of circular spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Graph Theory and Applications
A configuration of the triple (P,L,I) is an incidence relation which has the properties "any two points are incident with at most one line" and "any two lines are incident with at most one point".

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Diagrammatic Reasoning in Projective Geometry

open access: yes, 1999
The heart of our thesis is that matrices of incidence can be used for mechanical theorem proving in projective geometry. To every geometrical statement of projective geometry is associated a matrix of incidence whose normal form is computed after ...

Azaporphyrinoid‐Based Photo‐ and Electroactive Architectures for Advanced Functional Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A long‐standing collaboration between the Torres and Guldi groups has yielded diverse azaporphyrinoid‐based donor‐acceptor nanohybrids with promising applications in solar energy conversion. This conspectus highlights key molecular platforms and structure‐function relationships that govern light and charge management, supporting the rational design of ...
