Circularity in 3D Printing with Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate Glycol): Copolymer Composition Dependent Degradation During Recycling

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Circular recycling of PETG using 3D printing leads to the development of crystalline inclusions of oligomers generated from thermomechanical degradation during recycling. However, the concentration of crystals generated depends on the PETG sourcing that is associated with its molar mass and copolymer composition.

Solid Waste Disposal: A Choice Experiment Experience in Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes
Increasing generation of solid waste requires better quality disposal options in Malaysia. Control tipping is the most commonly used complemented by sanitary landfill and incineration. This study estimates the non-market values of improved waste disposal

Recent Developments in Sustainable Composites for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): A Review

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review presents the potential of using natural plant fibers and biodegradable polymers as sustainable printed circuit boards (PCBs). This review provides future directions in innovation and sustainable PCBs development. Bio‐composites PCBs are both environmentally friendly and sustainable due to the natural fibres they contain.

Bio‐Based Epoxy Resins from Estragole: Achieving High Glass Transition Temperatures Comparable to DGEBA and Simultaneously Low Viscosities

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Two novel bio‐based epoxy monomers, diglycidyl‐4‐allylphenol (DG‐4A) and triglycidyl‐diallylphenol (TG‐DA), derived from estragole (92% and 72% bio‐content), were synthesized and cured with isophorone diamin (IPDA) and 4,4´‐diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS). The resins show high Tgs, with DG‐4A reaching and TG‐DA exceeding DGEBA‐based systems. These resins

Solidification of APC residues using PFA

open access: yes, 2009
A pulverised fuel ash (pfa) classed as a waste due to high loss on ignition (LoI) was blended with waste alkali and used to solidify air pollution control (APC) residue from a waste incinerator.

Siloxane Bond Exchange Enables Sustainable Recycling of PDMS Coated Nylon 6,6 Airbag Fabrics

open access: yesNatural Sciences, EarlyView.
Siloxane bond exchange driven selective depolymerization and removal of PDMS from nylon airbag fabrics. ABSTRACT The selective removal of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) coatings from nylon 6,6 airbag fabrics is essential for enabling circular reuse of high‐value technical textiles.
