Incineration of hazardous wastes

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 1991
Glaxo has practiced incineration of liquid and gaseous wastes for over twenty years and currently operate eleven liquid and gas incinerators in the United Kingdom and Singapore. The liquid incinerators burn, as their main streams, those solvents that cannot be recovered and recycled within the processes.

Suicide by Self-Incineration

The American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, 1997
During a 10-year period (1980-1989), at least 43 cases of self-incineration with lethal outcome took place in Denmark. The incidence seems to be increasing: 11 cases took place in the first 5 years and 32 cases in the last 5 years. An even sex ratio as found (male:female = 23:20). The median age was 43 years, with a broad age range (20-87).

Incinerability index: A measure of incinerator performance

Waste Management, 1990
Abstract A series of 10 incineration tests were performed on a synthetic hazardous waste containing tetrachloroethylene, toluene, chlorobenzene, and pentachlorobenzene as principal organic hazardous components (POHCs). Sulfur hexafluoride was also injected into the mixture just prior to incineration and the resulting destruction removal efficiencies (
