A comparison was made of the postoperative results after cataract extraction with knife incision ab interno and stepped incision ab externo. The complications related to wound healing were fewer when stepped incision was used. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in the degree of postoperative astigmatism.

Journal of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2013Columellar and nostril shapes often present irregularity after transcolumellar incision for open rhinoplasty, because of the contracture of the incised wound. The present study introduces a new technique to prevent this complication, and verifies its efficacy in improving cosmetic appearance.
