This study aims to use the redirected walking technique that makes users of virtual reality systems feel like they are walking on an inclined surface while actually walking on a flat one in a real space. However, when the appearance of the virtual inclination becomes too significant, the absence of rotational force components applied to the body causes

Seven male subjects ran at 3.0 m/s on a motorized treadmill including a force platform under the tread. The subjects ran at each of five treadmill inclinations: + 0.17, +0.077, 0, -0.077, and -0.17 radians. The position of the subjects’ legs were read from cine´ films (100 frames/s).

Inclined transpression can be defined in terms of simultaneous contraction and strike-slip and dip-slip shearing, and is illustrated here using a strain triangle in which the apices represent the three strain components. Strain matrix modelling shows that all three axes of the finite strain ellipsoid are non-parallel to the Cartesian reference frame ...

Through an amplification of minor sociality—a modality of existence indebted to the concept of Black life and the ways in which Black life always forces a rethinking of sociality—the chapter expands on the less comfortable aspects of conviviality.

Motion of an inclined cylinder on an inclined plane
European Journal of Physics, 2015Summary: We consider in this paper the motion of an inclined cylinder on an inclined plane. At low inclined plane angles, the cylinder rolls without slipping across the incline, in a direction perpendicular to its long axis. At steeper angles, long cylinders follow a straight line path in a direction that veers away from the low angle path.
