Effect of Blade Inclination Angle on a Darrieus Wind Turbine

open access: yesJournal of Turbomachinery, 2010
This paper presents a model for the evaluation of energy performance and aerodynamic forces acting on a small helical Darrieus vertical axis wind turbine depending on blade inclination angle. It consists of an analytical code coupled to a solid modeling software capable of generating the desired blade geometry depending on the desired design geometric ...

Inclination Angle Optimization for “Inclined Projected Winglet Pair” Vortex Generator

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications, 2018
Abstract Vortex generators (VG) are widely used in multifunctional heat exchangers/reactors for augmenting the heat transfer from fin plates to the working fluid. In this study, numerical simulations for longitudinal VGs are performed for both laminar and turbulent flow regimes.

Relationship between inclination angle and friction factor of chevron-type plate heat exchangers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2020
The inclination angle is a key design parameter of chevron-type plate heat exchangers. An increase of the inclination angle can possibly raise the flow friction by two orders of magnitude.

Association of the Interfacet Angle and the Lunate Facet Inclination Angle With Kienböck Disease

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2022
The etiology of Kienböck disease remains unclear, although mechanical, vascular, and metabolic risk factors have been suggested. We aimed to investigate the association of the angle between the curvatures of the distal radius and the development of Kienböck disease. The lunate facet inclination (LFI), scaphoid facet inclination, and interfacet angle ...

The Angle of Inclination of Extension Ladders

Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2015
For extension ladders and other non-self supporting ladders, setting the angle of inclination of the ladder is a critical step in the set up process. The angle of the ladder influences: 1) the potential for a ladder to slide out at the base, 2) the overall strength of the system, and 3) the biomechanics of the climber/user on the ladder.

Radiographic method to measure the inclination angle of the acetabulum

Journal of Orthopaedic Science, 2008
Various attempts have been made to assess the inclination angle of the acetabulum utilizing new imageprocessing technologies to enable three-dimensional reconstruction of the acetabulum. However, reliability of these methods has not been estimated in comparison with anatomical measurements.

The capillary contact angle, II: The inclined plane

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 1988
AbstractIn an earlier paper an hypothesis on the nature of the forces resisting motion of a liquid drop on a support surface II was introduced and tested in the (rotationally symmetric) case for which ll is a horizontal plane. In the present work II is chosen as an inclined plane, so that rotational symmetry fails.

Angles of inclination and anteversion in hip dysplasia in the dog

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1985
SUMMARY The angles of inclination and anteversion of the femoral head and neck were measured on 150 limbs of 75 dogs. These hip angles were compared with pathoanatomic and radiographic scores of hip dysplasia. There was a minimal difference between dysplastic and healthy dogs in the angles of inclination and anteversion.
