Stability analysis of inclined plane flow and magnetohydrodynamic inclined plane flow
2015 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2015In this paper, we study the liquid flow down an inclined plane and prove that the the system is exponentially stable for some wave number k using the Lyapunov energy analysis approach. In addition, we introduce a new model called the magnetohydrodynamic inclined plane flow by adding the effect of a transverse magnetic field.

The British Journal of Radiology, 1970
The increasing demand for radiological examinations increases the need for simple reliable ancillary radiological techniques. Zonography is one of these. The technique has been known for many years (Ziedses des Plantes, 1933) but, as with most variations of standard tomographic technique the method has received scant attention in the English literature

Braiding patterns on an inclined plane
Nature, 2004A jet of fluid flowing down a partially wetting, inclined plane usually meanders but--by maintaining a constant flow rate--meandering can be suppressed, leading to the emergence of a beautiful braided structure. Here we show that this flow pattern can be explained by the interplay between surface tension, which tends to narrow the jet, and fluid ...

2016 13th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation (REV), 2016
This work approaches the development of a remote lab for teaching mechanical principles based on Galileo's Inclined Plane Experiment. The lab can be used in order to cover concepts such as second Newton's Law and force decomposition in high school and higher education.

Projectiles on inclined planes
Physics Education, 1992This article considers the problem of determining the angle(s) of projection for a particle to travel a prescribed distance up an inclined plane, and shows that there can be either three, two, one or no solutions to this problem, i.e. three, two, one or no possible angles of projection.

Modifying the inclined-plane experiment
The Physics Teacher, 2001We have modified our inclined plane experiment, for determining g, by adding a computer interface and utilizing a procedure that eliminates the need to know initial conditions of motion. Excellent results are obtained using either an air track or a PASCO dynamic cart system.

Plane constantly inclined magnetogasdynamic flows
International Journal of Engineering Science, 1981Abstract Compressible MHD constantly inclined steady plane flows are studied by using the formulation in terms of streamfunction and magnetic flux function. This approach is illustrated through solutions of four problems.

The inclined plane particle classifier
Powder Technology, 1981Abstract A novel pneumatic particle classifier, termed the inclined plane classifier (IPC), is described. The performance of the IPC was determined for a variety of operating conditions, using limestone particles in the size range 0.1 – 1.0 mm. Reasonably sharp separations were obtained, and it was found possible to correlate the observed cut sizes ...
