Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Couplings in parametrically excited inclined cables systems [PDF]
Cables in stayed bridges are subjected to important dynamic solicitations for which dynamic model are now well established. Due to their design, such structures highlight resonance phenomena and instabilities frequently observed.

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Similarity solutions for slender dry patches with thermocapillarity
We use the lubrication approximation to investigate slender dry patches in an infinitely wide film of viscous fluid flowing steadily on an inclined plane that is either heated or cooled relative to the surrounding atmosphere.

Stability of a granular layer on an inclined “fakir plane” [PDF]
We present here experimental results on the effect of a forest of cylinder obstacles (nails) on the stability of a granular layer over a rough incline, in a so-called "fakir plane" configuration. The nail forest is found to increase the stability of the layer, the more for the densest array, and such an effect is recovered by a simple model taking into

This work studies the anisotropic behavior of circular notched tensile specimens of Ni‐base superalloy single crystals during high‐temperature tensile creep along [001], [110], and [111]. Correlative scale‐bridging imaging of specimens reveals early rupture along [110] because 1) plastic deformation proceeds faster at notch center; 2) more (brittle ...

A Review on Hydrodynamical Stability of Thin Film Flowing Along an Inclined Plane
The dynamics and stability of thin liquid films have fascinated scientists over many decades. Thin film flows occur over a wide range of length scales and are central to numerous areas of engineering, geophysics and biophysics. These include nanofluidics

Walking Control of a Biped Robot on an Inclined Plane [PDF]
The human structure is suitable for an assistive robot in the human environment. However, the bipedal walk is a challenging problem. Walking on flat and even floor conditions is not satisfactory for the applicability of a humanoid robot. This paper presents an experimental study on bipedal walk on inclined plane.
