On the transition matrix for acoustic waves scattered by a multilayered inclusion

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
The transition matrix (T matrix) for acoustic waves scattered by a multilayered inclusion with arbitrary geometry is reformulated by applying the Green’s identity for scalar wavefunctions. The derivation of the T matrix is much simpler than previous formulations based on the Helmholtz integral formula.

On the inclusion of hole-hole scattering in the Brueckner t-matrix

Nuclear Physics, 1959
Abstract A discussion is given of the effect of including hole-hole scattering terms in the Brueckner t -matrix method applied to large fermion systems with attractive separable potentials. The nature of the singularity in the t -matrix equation is considerably altered, and, for the infinite system, the new t -matrix can be written as the sum of a

Compton scattering tomography in the study of a dense inclusion in a lighter matrix

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1993
Abstract The number of photons inelastically scattered within a well defined solid angle used in Compton scattering is linearly dependent on the mass density and hence the electron density of the sample. The effect of a high density high atomic number material (Pb), and a lower atomic number material (Cu) in an aluminium matrix on the resultant ...

Inclusion of the Feeding Network Effects in the Generalized-Scattering-Matrix Formulation of a Finite Array

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2009
The formulation of the generalized scattering matrix (GSM) of a finite array is revised to take into account the feeding network effects in the calculation of the external mutual coupling. It allows the analysis of finite arrays of externally coupled elements whose radiated field can be described by means of spherical waves on a ground plane, such as ...

Guided wave scattering analysis for a plate with arbitrarily shaped elastic inclusions using the T-matrix method

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2016
Abstract Guided wave scattering by an arbitrarily shaped elastic inclusion in a flat plate is analyzed by using the three-dimensional elasticity. An inclusion is decomposed into a number of small subscatterers and the field scattered by the subscatterers is solved by using a multiple scattering theory.

Scattering of elastic waves by a rigid cylindrical inclusion partially debonded from its surrounding matrix—I. SH case

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1996
Abstract In Part I of this two-part paper, the scattering of SH waves by a rigid cylindrical inclusion partially debonded from its surrounding matrix is investigated by using the wave function expansion method and singular integral equation technique. The debonding regions are modeled as multiple arc-shaped interface cracks with non-contacting faces.

Scattering of SH Waves by an Arc-Shaped Crack between a Cylindrical Piezoelectric Inclusion and Matrix-II: Far Fields

International Journal of Fracture, 2000
The scattered far field pattern(SFFP) and scattered cross section(SCS) are obtained based on the work of part I. Different from the near field case, the numerical results indicate that the resonance occurs at relatively high frequency, and on the whole keeps in a wake of decreasing resonance peaks.
