5 Incoherent quasielastic neutron scattering

2000
Abstract In the case of spatially limited jump diffusion, the incoherent scattering function consists of an elastic and a quasielastic part, and the fraction of elastic intensity is called the incoherent structure factor, EISF. This chapter evaluates different scenarios and the corresponding EISFs.

Incoherent Scatter Correlation Function Measurements

Radio Science, 1969
Single‐pulse and double‐pulse methods for measuring the cross‐correlation (two polarizations transmitted and received) or auto‐correlation (one polarization only) function of the scattered signal are described. The statistical errors associated with various forms of multi‐bit (no quantization errors in the sampling process), one‐bit, and hybrid ...

Incoherent Thomson scattering

1996
Thomson scattering is a very powerful diagnostic which is applied at nearly every magnetic confinement device. Depending on the experimental conditions different plasma parameters can be diagnosed. When the wave vector is much larger than the plasma Debye length, the total scattered power is obtained by an incoherent summation over the scattered powers

Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) Systems

1991
An outline of the fundamentals of incoherent scatter theory and its historical development, a description of the milestones of the early development of the technique, and an example of how some ionospheric parameters are measured are given in Section 2.3.2 of this book.

Incoherent Thomson Scattering as a Diagnostic Tool

Fusion Technology, 1998
Thomson scattering is a very powerful diagnostic which is applied at nearly every magnetic confinement device. Depending on the experimental conditions different plasma parameters can be diagnosed. When the wavelength is much smaller than the plasma Debye length, the total scattered power is obtained by an incoherent summation over the scattered powers
