Ultrasound‐Triggered Gelation for Restoring Biomechanical Properties of Degenerated Functional Spinal Units

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an innovative approach to treating intervertebral disc degeneration using ultrasound‐triggered in situ hydrogel formation. Proof‐of‐concept experiments using optimized biomaterial and ultrasound parameters demonstrate partial restoration of biomechanical function and successful integration into degenerated disc tissue, offering a ...

Income distribution in a monetary economy

open access: yesPSL Quarterly Review, 2014
In a monetary economy capital is a fund. This idea is captured by the circuit of capital. We define a circuit for fixed capital and argue that it is closed when the fund that initiates it is recovered in a present value sense.

Infusible Extracellular Matrix Biomaterial Enhances Cell‐Specific Pro‐Repair Responses Following Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We measure the cell‐specific responses of administering infusible ECM (iECM) in acute myocardial infarction (MI) across multiple timepoints. Using single‐nucleus RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we measure macrophage activation, fibroblast remodeling, increased vascular development, lymphangiogenesis, cardioprotection, and neurogenesis ...

Trends in Regional Inequalities in Pakistan: Evidence Since 1998

open access: yesLahore Journal of Economics
Periodic research and documentation of the extent and nature of inter-regional and intra-regional inequalities is a pre-requisite for formulating cost effective interventions for the promotion of spatially balanced and sustainable development.

Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

Sustainable Development through Science and Technology

open access: yesLahore Journal of Economics
After 50 years of nationhood, about 60 million Pakistani citizens still live in absolute poverty, a condition so debasing that it robs the poor of the very potential of their genes.

High‐Performance Electrocatalysts of Potassium Lactate Oxidation for Hydrogen and Solid Potassium Acetate Production

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Potassium lactate, produced from polylactic acid plastic waste, is oxidized to potassium acetate on an anode using Ni(Co)OOH as the electrocatalyst, while hydrogen is simultaneously generated at the cathode, through a highly efficient industrial‐scale electrolysis system.

The neoclassical theory of growth and distribution

open access: yesPSL Quarterly Review, 2000
The paper surveys the neoclassical theory of growth. As a preliminary, the meaning of the adjective "neoclassical" is discussed. The basic model is then sketched, and the conditions ensuring a stationary state are illustrated.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.
