White Matter and Perivascular Imaging Changes in Alzheimer's Disease and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy
ABSTRACT Objective Peak‐width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) and diffusion tensor imaging–analysis along the perivascular space (DTI‐ALPS), reflecting white matter integrity and glymphatic function, are altered in Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Endothelial Cell Proteins as Biomarkers in Susac Syndrome
ABSTRACT Objective Susac syndrome (SS) is a rare CD8+ T cell–mediated microangiopathy affecting the brain, retina, and auditory labyrinth. Endothelial injury is thought to be a central mechanism; however, no circulating disease biomarkers are known. We performed targeted proteomic profiling to identify circulating endothelial‐associated proteins as ...

Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

Objective We assessed the effectiveness of PrismRA to improve clinical outcomes among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) initiating treatment with a biologic or targeted synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (b/tsDMARD). Methods PrismRA incorporated 19 gene expression features and four clinical features to assess a patient's likelihood of

Rheumatologic Manifestations of Patients With Type B Insulin Resistance
Objective The objectives of this study were to identify laboratory and clinical features associated with type B insulin resistance (TBIR), a rare condition caused by autoantibodies that inhibit the insulin receptor, most frequently occurring in the setting of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and to increase awareness of this rare, life‐threatening ...

The researcher collecting hierarchical data is frequently confronted with incompleteness. Since the processes governing missingness are often outside the investigator's control, no matter how well the experiment has been designed, careful attention is needed when analyzing such data.We sketch a standard framework and taxonomy largely based on Rubin's ...

Gaussian kernels for incomplete data
Applied Soft Computing, 2019Abstract This paper discusses a method to estimate the expected value of the Gaussian kernel in the presence of incomplete data. We show how, under the general assumption of a missing-at-random mechanism, the expected value of the Gaussian kernel function has a simple closed-form solution.

Database technology, as well as the bulk of data mining technology, is founded upon logic, with absolute notions of truth and falsehood, at least with respect to the data set. Patterns are discovered exhaustively, with carefully engineered algorithms devised to determine all patterns in a data set that belong to a certain class.
