Conservation laws and symmetrization of the equations of incompressible inviscid fluids [PDF]

open access: yesQuarterly of Applied Mathematics, 1999
Many physical processes are described by conservative quasilinear systems of equations that admit a supplementary independent conservation law. A typical example is the equations of incompressible fluid dynamics. If for basic equations the conservation laws of the momentum and the volume are chosen then the conservation law of the energy is an ...

The Benjamin–Ono Equation in the Zero‐Dispersion Limit for Rational Initial Data: Generation of Dispersive Shock Waves

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 9, Page 2107-2157, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The leading‐order asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Cauchy initial‐value problem for the Benjamin–Ono equation in L2(R)$L^2(\mathbb {R})$ is obtained explicitly for generic rational initial data u0$u_0$. An explicit asymptotic wave profile uZD(t,x;ε)$u^\mathrm{ZD}(t,x;\epsilon)$ is given, in terms of the branches of the multivalued ...

APTNet: A Condition‐Sensitive Modulation Framework for Surface Pressure Prediction on Supersonic Aircraft

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Volume 11, Issue 4, Page 1302-1319, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate surface‐pressure prediction over broad operating envelopes is critical for supersonic aerodynamic analysis and design. To overcome the bottlenecks of traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in real‐time performance and computational efficiency, data‐driven deep learning methods have emerged. However, existing data‐driven models

Inviscid incompressible limit for capillary fluids with density-dependent viscosity

open access: yesJournal of Evolution Equations
Abstract The asymptotic limit of the Navier–Stokes–Korteweg system for barotropic capillary fluids with density-dependent viscosities in the low-Mach number and vanishing viscosity regime is established in $$\mathbb {R}^d$$

A Direct Approach for Detection of Bottom Topography in Shallow Water

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 157, Issue 2, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose a fast, stable, and direct analytic method to detect underwater channel topography from surface wave measurements, based on one‐dimensional shallow water equations. The technique requires knowledge of the free surface and its first two time derivatives at a single instant t★$t^{\star }$ above the fixed, bounded open segment of the ...

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 98, Issue 7, Page 804-839, July 2026.
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Hydrodynamic equations for incompressible inviscid fluid in terms of generalized stream function [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2004
Hydrodynamic equations for ideal incompressible fluid are written in terms of generalized stream function. Two‐dimensional version of these equations is transformed to the form of one dynamic equation for the stream function. This equation contains arbitrary function which is determined by inflow conditions given on the boundary.

The Effect of the Earth's Rotation on Wave‐Induced Drift in Finite‐Depth Water: The Role of Unsteadiness

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Wave‐induced transport in the coastal zone can play an important role in the distribution of nutrients, plankton, and pollutants including plastic litter. The effect of the water depth, unsteadiness of the wave field, and the rotation of the Earth on the wave‐induced drift is investigated in this paper. We derive a model for the time‐dependent

Simulating Fluid and Structure Interaction using Exponential Basis Functions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2018
