Nodal correlations in the incompressible composite fermion liquid
Physical Review B, 2003To search for possible correlations in the system of interpenetrating liquids of zeroes and electrons in the fractional quantum Hall effect, this paper studies several ground state correlation functions involving particles and zeroes in the incompressible states of composite fermions at filling factors $\ensuremath{\nu}=2/5,$ 3/7, and 4/9.

Magnetohydrodynamic stability of heterogeneous incompressible nondissipative conducting liquids
Applied Scientific Research, Section B, 1964This discussion which is restricted to the flow of heterogeneous, incompressible, inviscid, perfect conducting liquids between two rotating or nonrotating coaxial cylinders is divided into three parts. In the first part the stability of the liquid in question between two coaxial nonrotating cylinders with an applied magnetic field perpendicular to the ...

Photoluminescence of excitons in the incompressible quantum liquid
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1995Abstract The radiative recombination time τ of excitons in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells shows an anomalous increase at the v = 1 3 incompressible quantum liquid (IQL). This order of magnitude increase in τ indicates that at v = 1 3 the electron density near the valence band hole is reduced.

Surface waves in a non-newtonian incompressible liquid film
Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik ZAMP, 1979The perturbation techniques of Friedrichs, Keller and Benney ar used to derive the governing equations of long wavelength surface waves in a liquid film of a fluid which obeys a generalized Norton type consititutive relationship. Motions are assumed to be small so that acceleration terms are negligible.

Damping of surface waves in an incompressible liquid
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1957The damping of surface waves of small amplitude in liquid contained in cylinders has been calculated. Viscous dissipation in an assumed laminar boundary layer was taken to be the primary cause of damping. Experimental results were obtained for the logarithmic decrement as a function of the ratio of liquid height to cylinder radius for several water ...

Unsteady-State Cone Flows of Ideal Incompressible Liquids
Theoretical Foundations of Chemical Engineering, 2003A mathematical model is suggested for the phenomenon that is observed when a circulation flow generates a meridional flow in a chemical reactor, separator, hydrocyclone, or free jet. The problem of a linear wave confined within a cone is solved in closed form. The flow of a liquid within distorted conical boundaries is considered.

Two—Dimensional Wigner Solid Versus Incompressible Quantum Liquid
1993A unified many—body approach is shown to allow for studying the nature of two condensed phases in high magnetic fields: a 2D Wigner solid (WS) of the guiding centers of Coulomb interacting electrons and an incompressible quantum liquid (IQL) of Bose condensed charge—vortex composites.

Non-stationary flow of an ideal incompressible liquid
USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1963Our aim in this paper is to prove that there is a single-valued solution “in the whole” of the two-dimensional problem with initial data for the equations of motion of an ideal incompressible liquid contained in some vessel. The existence and uniqueness of a solution on a sufficiently small time interval has been proved for sufficiently smooth data in ...
