The United Nations is not infallible. It has to be asked whether the UN Report of the Special Rapporteur (United Nations Human Rights Council, 2017), critically examined by Dharmawardene and Menkes (this issue), deserves our profession’s attention. That Report, from the World’s peak body, asserts that psychiatry is dominated by the biomedical model to ...

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

A new method for focusing and imaging X-rays and gamma-rays with diffraction crystals [PDF]
Bent diffraction crystals in which the intercrystalline-plane spacing is varied as a function of position in the crystal are used to focus monochromatic radiation from a point source or parallel beam down to a point image.

Incremental dependency parsing [PDF]
The paper introduces a dependency-based grammar and the associated parser and focusses on the problem of determinism in parsing and recovery from errors. First, it is shown how dependency-based parsing can be afforded, by taking into account the suggestions coming from other approaches, and the preference criteria for parsing are breifly addressed ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
