Housing, Schools, and Incremental Segregative Effects

The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 1979
Racial segregation in housing contributes to racial segregation in schools, and racially identifiable schools contribute to the development and maintenance of segregated neighborhoods. Examination of the reciprocal interplay between housing and school segregation has been spurred by the Supreme Court's decision in the Dayton school case, which calls ...

Incremental cost-effectiveness ratio and incremental net-health benefit: two sides of the same coin

Expert Review of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcomes Research, 2001
In recent years, an alternative framework for cost-effectiveness analyses has been growing in popularity. Instead of the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio for which statistical inference is often difficult, the incremental net-health benefit (INHB), a linear transformation of incremental costs and effectiveness, has been utilized.

Incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER)

Abstract The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) is an analysis used to summarize the cost-effectiveness of a healthcare intervention. An overview of the ICER principles is followed by a description of ICER thresholds and the approach to calculating ICERs.

Incremental Algorithms for Effective and Efficient Query Recommendation

2010
Query recommender systems give users hints on possible interesting queries relative to their information needs. Most query recommenders are based on static knowledge models built on the basis of past user behaviors recorded in query logs. These models should be periodically updated, or rebuilt from scratch, to keep up with the possible variations in ...

Avoiding Order Effects in Incremental Learning

2005
This paper addresses the problem of mitigating the order effects in incremental learning, a phenomenon observed when different ordered sequences of observations lead to different results. A modification of an ILP incremental learning system, with the aim of making it order-independent, is presented.
