Dynamic Feature Selection in Incremental Hierarchical Clustering [PDF]
Feature selection has received a lot of attention in the machine learning community, but mainly under the supervised paradigm. In this work we study the potential benefits of feature selection in hierarchical clustering tasks. Particularly we address this problem in the context of incremental clustering, following the basic ideas of Gennari [8].

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Interferon type 1 (IFN‐1) production and signaling is associated with the acquisition of therapy resistance, following chronic DNA damage, via Interferon‐related DNA damage resistance signature (IRDS) gene expression. An alternative, DNA damage‐independent role of sustained IFN‐1 mediated resistance was identified and characterized by the emergence of ...

Identifying Key MicroRNA Signatures for Neurodegenerative Diseases With Machine Learning Methods
Neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease, and many other disease types, cause cognitive dysfunctions such as dementia via the progressive loss of structure or function of the body’s neurons.
