Finite Element Analyses of Conventional Single Point Incremental Forming and Friction Stir Incremental Forming of Aluminum Alloy Sheets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Friction stir incremental forming process for forming A5083 aluminum alloy sheets was calculated by finite element method. Conventional incremental forming process was also calculated and the both calculated results about distributions of temperature ...

Improving Accuracy in Aluminum Incremental Sheet Forming of Complex Geometries Using Iterative Learning Control

open access: yes, 2015
Incremental Sheet Forming is a flexible process characterized by low costs and higher process times with respect to traditional forming technologies. It is therefore suitable for prototypes, small series or custom mass productions.

Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

Using the solid-shell element to model the roll forming of large radii profiles

open access: yes, 2012
Roll forming is an incremental bending process for forming metal sheet, strip or coiled stock. Although Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a standard tool for metal forming simulation, it is only now being increasingly used for the analysis of the roll ...

Active Learning‐Accelerated Discovery of Fibrous Hydrogels with Tissue‐Mimetic Viscoelasticity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Active learning accelerates the design of fibrous hydrogels that mimic the viscoelasticity of native tissues. By integrating multi‐objective optimization and closed‐loop experimentation, this approach efficiently identifies optimal formulations from thousands of possibilities and decouples elasticity and viscosity. The resulting hydrogels offer tunable

Coating Artificial Spider Silk Fiber with Magnetic FeCo: An Effective Strategy for Creating a Flexible Magneto‐Responsive Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An original method is presented for producing artificial spider silk fibers with magnetic and magnetomechanical responsiveness, which consists in coating them with a nanometer‐thick layer of FeCo alloy by sputtering deposition. The challenge of combining organic materials and inorganic magnetic nanostructures is addressed, thus taking a step forward ...
