Incremental Forming of Sandwich Panels

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007
This paper presents a first investigation of the applicability of incremental sheet forming (ISF) to sandwich panels. Two initial tests on various sandwich panel designs established that sandwich panels which are ductile and incompressible are the most suitable for the process.

Incremental forming of polycarbonate sheets

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2018
Abstract The influence of the contact conditions at the tool-workpiece interface and the toolpath strategy on the quality of incremental formed parts made by polycarbonate sheets is investigated. To this end, different experimental tests were conducted involving different tool types (with fixed and rotating end) and toolpaths (unidirectional and ...

Comparing two robot assisted incremental forming methods: incremental forming by pressing and incremental hammering

International Journal of Material Forming, 2008
This paper explains and compares two different robot assisted incremental forming processes: robot assisted incremental forming by pressing and robot assisted incremental hammering. Both processes are based on robot assisted forming, but forming of the material is different.

Incremental solidification and forming

Metals Technology, 1983
AbstractA new concept in solidification and casting technology is outlined which relates powder metallurgy, spray forming, and conventional casting. It is shown that incremental solidification can he used to make products having enhanced properties. Rapid solidification, very low porosity, zero segregation, fine grain size, and uniform distribution of ...
