Model-based incremental validity.

Psychological Methods, 2021
As an important facet of construct validity, incremental validity has been the focus of many applied investigations across a wide array of disciplines. Unfortunately, traditional methodological approaches for studying incremental validity, typically rooted in multiple regression, have many limitations that can hinder such assessments.

Incremental Validity Principles in Test Construction.

Psychological Assessment, 2003
The authors articulate 5 basic principles for enhancing incremental validity, both among elements within a test and between tests, during test construction: (a) careful, precise articulation of each element or facet within the content domain; (b) reliable measurement of each facet through use of multiple, alternate-form items; (c) examination of ...

Incremental validity of situational judgment tests.

Journal of Applied Psychology, 2001
Using 3 different samples, the authors assessed the incremental validity of situational judgment inventories (SJIs), relative to job knowledge, cognitive ability, job experience, and conscientiousness, in the prediction of job performance. The SJI was a valid predictor in all 3 samples and incrementally so in 2 samples. Relative to the other predictors,

Incremental Validation of RDF Graphs

2021
With the scale of RDF graph data dramatically increasing, the demands for specifying constraints on RDF graphs and detecting violations of such constraints become urgent. Recently, the validation of RDF graphs has been attracting increasing research efforts, among which ShEx (Shape Expressions) and SHACL (Shapes Constraint Language) are widely used ...

Estimating Incremental Validity Under Missing Data

Multivariate Behavioral Research, 2016
A common form of missing data is caused by selection on an observed variable (e.g., Z). If the selection variable was measured and is available, the data are regarded as missing at random (MAR). Selection biases correlation, reliability, and effect size estimates when these estimates are computed on listwise deleted (LD) data sets.

Incremental validation of XML documents

ACM Transactions on Database Systems, 2004
We investigate the incremental validation of XML documents with respect to DTDs, specialized DTDs, and XML Schemas, under updates consisting of element tag renamings, insertions, and deletions. DTDs are modeled as extended context-free grammars. "Specialized DTDs" allow the decoupling of element types from element tags.

Incremental Validity of New Clinical Assessment Measures.

Psychological Assessment, 2003
The authors address conceptual and methodological foundations of incremental validity in the evaluation of newly developed clinical assessment measures. Incremental validity is defined as the degree to which a measure explains or predicts a phenomenon of interest, relative to other measures.

An Alternative Presentation of Incremental Validity

Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2011
This study examined discrepant high school grade point average (HSGPA) and SAT performance as measured by the difference between a student’s standardized SAT composite score and standardized HSGPA. The SAT–HSGPA discrepancy measure was used to examine whether certain students are more likely to exhibit discrepant performance and in what direction ...

Incremental Validation of XML Documents

2002
We investigate the incremental validation of XML documents with respect to DTDs and XML Schemas, under updates consisting of element tag renamings, insertions and deletions. DTDs are modeled as extended context-free grammars and XML Schemas are abstracted as "specialized DTDs", allowing to decouple element types from element tags.

Incremental Validity of a Measure of Emotional Intelligence

Journal of Personality Assessment, 2005
After the Schutte Self-Report Inventory of Emotional Intelligence (SSRI; Schutte et al., 1998) was found to predict college grade point average, subsequent emotional intelligence (EI)-college adjustment research has used inconsistent measures and widely varying criteria, resulting in confusion about the construct's predictive validity.
