AbstractThis article focuses on the decorative penwork in an incunabulum containing Der bien boeck by Thomas of Cantimpre. It discusses in particular the relevance of this penwork and the date the book was printed, 1488, in dating the related ‘Enkhuizen’ pen flourishing, which up to now was mainly found in undated manuscripts.
