ABSTRACT This paper examines Israel's destruction and ‘humanitarianisation’ of Palestinian health systems, arguing that this should be understood as an instance of ‘necropolitics,’ as conceived by Achille Mbembe. We review the extensive, long‐term destruction of health systems in Palestine before 7 October 2023 and the catastrophic acceleration of that

Targeting protein–protein interactions with reversible covalent modalities: Non‐cysteine chemistries
Abstract Protein–protein interactions (PPIs) are central to diverse cellular functions, and represent a rapidly expanding class of therapeutic targets. Advancements in covalent drug design have enabled small‐molecule drugs to overcome challenges associated with engaging these targets, such as limited durations of action and difficult‐to‐drug (expansive,

The division of labour between the Basque articles in the indefinite domain
The usage of the Basque definite and indefinite articles differs significantly from their Romance counterparts. While the definite article is used as a default article for NPs without another determiner, the exact function of the indefinite article in ...

The indefinite closed world assumption
The inadequacy of the Closed World Assumption in dealing with indefinite information has led to the Generalised Closed World Assumption and the Extended Generalised Closed World Assumption. However, these approaches have serious shortcomings.

Progressively Projected Newton's Method
Abstract Newton's Method is widely used to find the solution of complex non‐linear simulation problems. To guarantee a descent direction, it is common practice to clamp the negative eigenvalues of each element Hessian prior to assembly—a strategy known as Projected Newton (PN)—but this perturbation often hinders convergence.

Register‐Efficient Linear‐Time Evaluation in the Bernstein Basis
Abstract We investigate the evaluation of points and derivatives of Bézier curves and surfaces on modern architectures, focusing on performance and guided by numerical error bounds. While the de Casteljau algorithm remains the reference for numerical robustness, its linear working‐set size imposes substantial register pressure on GPUs.

Abstract Representational drift is a phenomenon of increasing interest in the cognitive and neural sciences. While investigations are ongoing for other sensory cortices, recent research has demonstrated the pervasiveness in which it occurs in the piriform cortex for olfaction.

Foundations of Indefinite Constraint Databases
We lay the foundations of a theory of constraint databases with indefinite information based on the relational model. We develop the scheme of indefinite L-constraint databases where L, the parameter, is a first-order constraint language.

Spanish stock returns, growth, and inflation, 1900–2020
Abstract This paper studies equity returns in the Madrid Stock Exchange and their connections with the macroeconomy from the emergence of a stock market around 1900 to its ‘big bang’ at the turn of the twenty‐first century. Using high‐quality data from primary sources and the methodology of the modern IBEX35 (published since 1987), we constructed an ...
