The Indefinite Article before Adjectives Followed by the Word Pain [PDF]
The objective of this study was to identify before what kinds of adjectives the indefinite article, a or an, is used, and before what kinds of adjectives the indefinite article is not used, when these adjectives are followed by the word pain, and when ...

Indefinite determiners. Variation and Optionality in Italoromance
In this paper, we concentrate on the most wide-spread forms of indefinite determiners, claiming that they are variants of one and the same syntactic structure. Assuming with Abney (1987) that the highest portion of the nominal structure (DP) includes two

ABSTRACT This paper examines Israel's destruction and ‘humanitarianisation’ of Palestinian health systems, arguing that this should be understood as an instance of ‘necropolitics,’ as conceived by Achille Mbembe. We review the extensive, long‐term destruction of health systems in Palestine before 7 October 2023 and the catastrophic acceleration of that

Variability in Second Language Indefinite Article Productions in End-State Speech
Variability in the form of article (i.e., a and the) omissions and stressing has been attributed to a mismatch between first (L1) and second language (L2) prosodic and syntactic structures.

Targeting protein–protein interactions with reversible covalent modalities: Non‐cysteine chemistries
Abstract Protein–protein interactions (PPIs) are central to diverse cellular functions, and represent a rapidly expanding class of therapeutic targets. Advancements in covalent drug design have enabled small‐molecule drugs to overcome challenges associated with engaging these targets, such as limited durations of action and difficult‐to‐drug (expansive,

Progressively Projected Newton's Method
Abstract Newton's Method is widely used to find the solution of complex non‐linear simulation problems. To guarantee a descent direction, it is common practice to clamp the negative eigenvalues of each element Hessian prior to assembly—a strategy known as Projected Newton (PN)—but this perturbation often hinders convergence.

Register‐Efficient Linear‐Time Evaluation in the Bernstein Basis
Abstract We investigate the evaluation of points and derivatives of Bézier curves and surfaces on modern architectures, focusing on performance and guided by numerical error bounds. While the de Casteljau algorithm remains the reference for numerical robustness, its linear working‐set size imposes substantial register pressure on GPUs.

Binary quantum random number generator based on value indefinite observables
All quantum random number generators based on measuring value indefinite observables are at least three-dimensional because the Kochen–Specker Theorem and the Located Kochen–Specker Theorem are false in dimension two.
