In this paper, we study the periodic problem for the Liénard equation with an indefinite singularity of attractive type x″+f(x)x′+φ(t)x+r(t)xμ=0, $$ x''+f(x)x'+\varphi (t)x+\frac{r(t)}{x^{\mu }}=0, $$ where f:(0,+∞)→R $f:(0,+\infty )\rightarrow R$ is ...

Nonlinear singular problems with indefinite potential term [PDF]
We consider a nonlinear Dirichlet problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator plus an indefinite potential. In the reaction we have the competing effects of a singular term and of concave and convex nonlinearities. In this paper the concave term is parametric.

Le syntagme « existentiel » en breton : définition syntaxique et sémantique
In Breton, the construction of a so-called "existential" statement clearly involves the verb bezañ "to be" in its two forms zo and eus (avel a zo ; n’eus ket avel: "there is wind; there is no wind").

Second-Order Differential Equation with Indefinite and Repulsive Singularities
This paper concerns a second-order differential equation with indefinite and repulsive singularities. It is the first time to study differential equation containing both indefinite and repulsive singularities simultaneously. A set of sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of positive periodic solutions.

ENERGY INVARIANTS IN THEORY OF ELASTOPLASTIC CRACKS
The paper considers a problem on a rectilinear crack in hardening elastoplastic material with load which is applied at infinity under plane-strain deformation conditions.

Maps on 3-manifolds given by surgery [PDF]
Suppose that the 3-manifold M is given by integral surgery along a link L in S^3. In the following we construct a stable map from M to the plane, whose singular set is canonically oriented.

On Indefinite Singular Generics
Consider a simple statement like 'A dog has four legs', which, under a generic reading, is an example of an Indefinite Singular (IS) generic. Different varieties of generics are differentiated by their subject nominal type; for instance, English has both the indefinite singular and bare plural (BP) generic (e.g. 'Dogs have four legs').

Numerical indefinite integration of functions with singularities [PDF]
We derive an indefinite quadrature formula, based on a theorem of Ganelius, for H p H^p functions, for p > 1 p>1 , over the interval ( − 1 , 1 ) (-1,1) .

Classification of phase singularities for complex scalar waves [PDF]
Motivated by the importance and universal character of phase singularities which are clarified recently, we study the local structure of equi-phase loci near the dislocation locus of complex valued planar and spatial waves, from the viewpoint of ...
