Indentation Test on Thermotropic Polymers
1993The indentation test is more and more widely used to investigate the “surface” mechanical properties, plasticity and elasticity. Various models have been developed to describe the elastic behaviour. From the indentation curves, it is then possible to calculate the reduced elastic modulus E/(1−v 2) (E: Young’s modulus, v: Poisson’s ratio).

INTRODUCTION TO INSTRUMENTED INDENTATION TESTING
Experimental Techniques, 2009Instrumented indentation testing (IIT) is a technique for measuring the mechanical properties of materials. It is a development of traditional hardness tests such as Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and Knoop. IIT is similar to traditional hardness testing in that a hard indenter, usually diamond, is pressed into contact with the test material.

Influence of the indenter shape in Rockwell Hardness Test
1998One of the main problems related to Rockwell hardness measurements is the influence of the indenter shape. In the present work the effects of the macro-geometry of the diamond indenter are analyzed as influencing parameters in Rockwell C test. Both an experimental analysis is carried out, using IMGC National Standard Machine, and a finite element ...
