The independence of and associations among apoptosis, autophagy, and necrosis

open access: yesSignal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, 2018
Cell death is an essential biological process for physiological growth and development. Three classical forms of cell death—apoptosis, autophagy, and necrosis—display distinct morphological features by activating specific signaling pathways.

Stackelberg Independence* [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Industrial Economics, 2019
The standard model of sequential capacity choices is the Stackelberg quantity leadership model with linear demand. I show that under the standard assumptions, leaders’ actions are informative about market conditions and independent of leaders’ beliefs about the arrivals of followers.

The spectrum of independence [PDF]

open access: yesArchive for Mathematical Logic, 2019
We study the set of possible sizes of maximal independent families to which we refer as spectrum of independence and denote Spec (mif). Here mif abbreviates maximal independent family. We show that:1.whenever κ 1< ⋯ < κ n are finitely many regular uncountable cardinals, it is consistent that {κi}i=1n⊆Spec(mif);2.whenever κ has uncountable ...

Approximate Kernel-Based Conditional Independence Tests for Fast Non-Parametric Causal Discovery [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference, 2017
Constraint-based causal discovery (CCD) algorithms require fast and accurate conditional independence (CI) testing. The Kernel Conditional Independence Test (KCIT) is currently one of the most popular CI tests in the non-parametric setting, but many ...

Women in Pre Independence and Post Independence [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development, 2018

In the Manusmriti, woman was considered as a precious being o be projected first by her father, then by her brother and husband and finally by, her son.

Combining transient dynamics and logistic‐asymptotic growth to study the recovery of two seabird populations after rat eradication

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examines the demographic dynamics of two seabird populations on Tromelin Island, 15 years after the eradication of brown rats. The results indicate that these populations are in good health and are expected to continue growing until breeding sites are saturated in about a century.

Cortical Bone Derived Stem Cells Modulate Cardiac Fibroblast Response via miR-18a in the Heart After Injury

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2020
The adult heart following injury such as a myocardial infarction forms a fibrotic scar associated with transformation of resident cardiac fibroblasts into myofibroblast, accelerating cardiac remodeling and dysfunction.

REDUCTION OF FREE INDEPENDENCE TO TENSOR INDEPENDENCE [PDF]

open access: yesInfinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics, 2004
In the hierarchy of freeness construction, free independence was reduced to tensor independence in the weak sense of convergence of moments. In this paper we show how to reduce free independence to tensor independence in the strong sense. We construct a suitable unital *-algebra of closed operators "affiliated" with a given unital *-algebra and call ...
