Integrating Copernicus LMS with ground measurements data for leaf area index and biomass assessment for grasslands in Poland and Norway

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
The integration of satellite data from the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) with ground-based measurements represents a pioneering approach to the assessment of leaf area index (LAI) and in situ biomass at grasslands in Poland highlighting the potential for applying this method to grassland areas in other countries, such as Norway.

Evaluating the Influence of Missing Data from the Crop Vegetation Index Time Series on Copernicus HR-VPP Phenological Products

open access: yesThe 1st International Conference on Advanced Remote Sensing – Shaping Sustainable Global Landscapes (ICARS 2025)
Phenological parameters extracted from time series (TS) of spectral indices are essential to characterizing crops. However, the lack of data in the TS can affect their accuracy. The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) provides these parameters and their temporal quality.

Evaluation of global leaf area index and fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation products over North America using Copernicus Ground Based Observations for Validation data [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing of Environment, 2020
Abstract With a growing number of Earth observation (EO) products available through operational programmes such as the European Union’s Copernicus, there is increasing emphasis on product accuracy and uncertainty, necessitating evaluation against in situ reference measurements.
