Multi-carrier DCSK With Hybrid Index Modulation: A New Perspective on Frequency-Index-Aided Chaotic Communication

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2022
To realize high energy-efficient, high spectrum-efficient, and high-throughput data transmission, a multi-carrier differential chaos shift keying communication system with hybrid index modulation, referred to as HIM-MC-DCSK system, is proposed in this ...

RIS Grouping Based Index Modulation for 6G Telecommunications

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2022
In this letter, a novel reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) grouping based index modulation (RGB-IM) is proposed to enhance spectral efficiency and improve bit error rate (BER). The idea is to divide an RIS into several number of group-surfaces (GR).

Performance of LoRa-Based Schemes and Quadrature Chirp Index Modulation

IEEE Internet of Things Journal, 2022
This article proposes new approximations for the bit error probability of several LoRa-based schemes, such as phase-shift keying (PSK) LoRa, in-phase and quadrature (IQ) chirp spread spectrum (CSS), discrete chirp rate keying (DCRK) CSS, and CSS with ...

Performance Analysis of an Index Modulation-Based Receive Diversity RIS-Assisted Wireless Communication System

IEEE Communications Letters, 2022
In this letter, a system model for beyond 5G communication networks utilizing the potential of both index modulation and reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) based communication schemes is investigated.

On the Capacity of Index Modulation

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2022
Index modulation represents the transmitted information in two parts: by selecting a subset of available transmission dimensions (antennas, sub-carriers, or time-slots) whose selection index carries information, and by modulation symbols transmitted in ...

Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) With Dual-Mode Index Modulation

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2021
Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation has been proved to have better bit error rate (BER) performance over orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) under high-mobility conditions.

Sequency Index Modulation: A Novel Index Modulation for Delay-Sequency Domain Waveforms

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2023
In this letter, the sequency domain is introduced as a novel resource to propose a new index modulation, which is named sequency index modulation (SeIM). In SeIM, information bits are implicitly conveyed through the indices of the activated sequencies enabling bit error rate (BER), spectral efficiency, and power efficiency enhancement.

Deep Learning-Based Detector for Dual Mode OFDM With Index Modulation

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2021
In this letter, we propose a deep learning-based dual mode orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (DM-OFDM-IM) detector called DeepDM, which is close to optimal bit error rate (BER) performance with low computational complexity.

Modulated index structures

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1990
We present a brief tutorial overview of the basic physics of periodically modulated index structures and how they affect an incident electromagnetic wave in various simple limits. Discussions of the wave-vector spectrum, coupled-amplitude equations, and finite grating-size effects are included.
