Hepatitis B Disease Diagnosis Using Rough Set

open access: yesCommunications, 2013
This paper describes processing of the medical data by means of the prediction system based on Rough Set Theory (RST). The Rough Sets proved to be very useful for the analysis of the decision problems concerning objects described in a data table by a set

How to Find Better Index Terms Through Citations

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the question of how information from the textual context of citations in scientific papers could improve indexing of the cited papers. We first present examples which show that the context should in principle provide better and new index ...

A Hybrid SWIM Data Naming Scheme Based on TLC Structure

open access: yesFuture Internet, 2020
Aiming at the problem of low interconnection efficiency caused by the wide variety of data in SWIM (System-Wide Information Management) and the inconsistent data naming methods, this paper proposes a new TLC (Type-Length-Content) structure hybrid data ...

Mode analysis of graded-index optical fibers using a scalar wave equation including gradient-index terms and direct numerical integration

open access: yes, 1980
A new mode analysis is proposed for optical fibers with arbitrary refractive-index profile. Scalar wave equations including gradient-index terms and characteristic equations including an abrupt change of the refractive index at the core-cladding boundary

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.
