ABSTRACT Sociolinguistics primarily focuses on deliberately staged public signs, while relatively less attention has been given to ephemeral and non‐deliberate signs in urban environments. This study investigates “ accidental signs,” which are hidden historical texts suddenly exposed by unpredictable events.

Character and creditworthiness: Unveiling the role of job titles in peer‐to‐peer lending
Abstract Using data from the Prosper lending platform, we examine the influence of job‐based trust on credit market dynamics. We find that the generalized trust implied by borrowers' job titles, as a reflection of individuals' ethical and integrity standards in professionals, positively affects listing and loan performance.

The target trial framework is a pragmatic roadmap for observational causal inference that clarifies questions, mitigates time‐related bias, and improves interpretability while acknowledging limits.
