Navigating Academic Integrity in Doctoral Education: A Study of Misconduct in Doctoral Defence Practices in Mongolia

open access: yesHigher Education Quarterly, Volume 80, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Doctoral defences play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and credibility of doctoral education. In Mongolia, however, defence practices, administered through centralised committees rooted in Soviet academic traditions, face significant structural, cultural, and ethical challenges.

Towards an analytical theory of the third-body problem for highly elliptical orbits

open access: yes, 2016
When dealing with satellites orbiting a central body on a highly elliptical orbit, it is necessary to consider the effect of gravitational perturbations due to external bodies. Indeed, these perturbations can become very important as soon as the altitude

Digital Inevitability: Families and the Transformation of Early Childhood Education

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 61, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates family attitudes toward the use of Digital Educational Resources (DER) in Early Childhood Education (ECE), examining how cognitive (knowledge), evaluative (value beliefs) and dispositional (expectations) factors shape both perceived usefulness and acceptance.

Enablers and Barriers to Implementing Early Childhood Development Assessment and Nutrition Interventions in Community Settings: Qualitative Case Study From Sidama Regional State, Ethiopia

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, Volume 22, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite improvements in children's nutritional status and a commitment to early childhood development (ECD) policy developments in Ethiopia, the risk of poor ECD outcomes remains alarming. This study aimed to identify enablers and barriers to the implementation of ECD assessment and provision of nutrition‐focused interventions in community ...

Functionalized Polyolefin With Photoresponsive Surface

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 2, February 2026.
The introduction of stimulus‐responsive groups can give polymers some material properties that cannot be realized simply by design and synthesis. Polyolefins, due to their nonpolar nature, suffer from poor compatibility with polar materials; however, directly grafting polar groups like hydroxyls onto their surface via traditional synthesis risks ...

Coupled authigenic Mg silicate and carbonate precipitation in saline lakes of the Salar de Atacama, Northern Chile

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
Sediments, unlithified and lithified microbial mats in the Salar de Atacama, are formed by similar pathways involving coupled precipitation of authigenic Mg silicate and calcium carbonate. Differences in products reflect differences in the initial distribution of organic biomass.

Investigating Anthropogenic and Social Influences on Diet of Semi‐Urban Vervet Monkeys Using DNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We used eDNA metabarcoding of faecal samples to quantify the dietary composition of two vervet monkey populations in a semi‐urban environment in South Africa over a 4‐month period, and compared these results with visual observations. We found that both methods yielded similar results, but eDNA metabarcoding revealed a greater diversity of consumed taxa.

Bacterial Communities Associated With Crustose Coralline Algae Are Host‐Specific

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
Fifteen Indo‐Pacific crustose coralline algae (CCA) species surface microbial communities were characterised with 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing and are distinct. The CCA surface microbiome primarily differentiate by algal host species, but core bacterial communities additionally correlated to host phylogeny.
