Examining the Impact of Domestic and Family Violence on Young Australians’ School‐Level Education

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Australian policy and practice increasingly acknowledges the need to respond to children as victim‐survivors of domestic and family violence (DFV) in their own right. As part of this, and in recognition that schools often have the most consistent contact with young people experiencing DFV, there is mounting recognition of the role education ...

N‐Insertion of Diazonium Salts Into Ketone Derivatives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Diazonium salts insert into ketones and their silyl enol ethers through a sequence of α‐azenylation and ring expansion via an N‐iminoaziridinium species. Coupled with an efficient N‐N bond cleavage, this protocol offers a mild alternative to Beckmann rearrangements and a powerful tool for skeletal editing of ketones.

Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte and monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte ratios as inflammatory markers in the assessment of glycemic status in diabetic patients of Asir region

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (MLR) were investigated as potential markers. A total of 3545 subjects were included in the analysis retrospectively. Adult men and women with impaired glucose metabolism were assessed. NLR and MLR may help assess inflammation in individuals with impaired glucose metabolism. Abstract

Laser‐Patterned Diamond Electrodes for Adhesion and Proliferation of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Laser patterning is used to create diamond electrodes on insulating diamond substrates. The process yields conductive surfaces with high capacitance, wide water windows, and low impedance. The electrode‐enhancing human mesenchymal stem cell adhesion and growth are nontoxic and promote cell alignment.

Calotropis procera Latex Extract as an Effective Green Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in Acidic Medium: Experimental and Quantum Chemical Approaches

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this work, Calotropis procera latex extract (CPLE) was evaluated as an environmentally benign corrosion inhibition on mild steel in 1‐M HCl using gravimetric, electrochemical, surface, and computational approaches. The results revealed that CPLE exhibited an efficient corrosion inhibitor with the efficiency of 94.26% and 93.10% at 200‐ppm ...

Recent Advances in PBAT (Nano) Composite Materials for Food Packaging: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) is the most commonly used plastic. PBAT‐based (nano) composites provide a lot of potential as food wrapping. The preparation of plastics based on PBAT composites is described. PBAT materials' distinctive properties lead to suitability for application in food packaging.

Studies of Mechanical, Dynamic Mechanical, Thermal, and Morphological Properties of Pistachio Shell Reinforced EPDM Biocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Pistachio shell powder (PSP)‐reinforced EPDM biocomposites with enhanced properties. ABSTRACT In the present study, a biocomposite based on ethylene propylene diene elastomer (EPDM) and pistachio shell powder (PSP) is prepared. EPDM is reinforced with PSP in various amounts (0–50 wt%). The obtained biocomposites are investigated in terms of mechanical,
