Survival rate of Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae): On different states of wheat and rye kernels previously infested by beetle pests [PDF]
The present study was undertaken to determine survival rate of Plodia interpunctella (Hübner, 1813), reared on different mechanical states of Vizija winter wheat cultivar and Raša winter rye cultivar, previously infested with different beetle pests ...

Plodia interpunctella (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) Immature-Stage Predisposition Post 60Co Ray Treatment [PDF]
The effect of gamma irradiation on the different developmental stages of the Plodia interpunctella was studied. Eggs less than 24 hr. old, larvae 2 week-old and fully grown pupae were irradiated with 60, 80 and 100 Gy.

Larvicidal efficacy of Verbascum spp. methanol extracts against Plodia interpunctella (Hübner, 1813) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) [PDF]
Verbascum species (fam. Scrophulariaceae) contain a high concentration of rotenone and verbascoside and traditionally have long been used as insecticides. This study is aimed to investigate the larvicidal efficacy of Verbascum thapsus L.

Insect Lipids as Novel Source for Future Applications: Chemical Composition and Industry Applications-A Comprehensive Review. [PDF]
Fat body (FB) acts as a major metabolic center important for the regulation of a variety of physiological processes such as embryogenesis, reproduction, flight, overwintering, protection, and communication. Lipid amounts and fatty acid (FA) composition vary with species, stage of life, and their diet.

Commercial formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis for control of Indian meal moth [PDF]
Doses of four commercial formulations and one experimental formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner were mixed with the diet used to rear colonies of the Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella (Hübner). Indian meal moth eggs were introduced to the treated diet, and the resultant adult emergence was tabulated.

Humidity modifies species-specific and age-dependent heat stress effects in an insect host-parasitoid interaction. [PDF]
Understanding how species and their interactions respond to extreme heat events is important to evaluate the impact of climate change. Using a well‐established host‐parasitoid system, we show that the life history responses of hosts and parasitoids to heat waves can largely depend on humidity levels. Abstract Climate change is projected to increase the

Toxicity of parasporal crystals of Bacillus thuringiensis to the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella [PDF]
Toxicity of Bacillus thuringiensis parasporal crystals to the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella, is described. The numbers of insects killed were in relation to crystal dry weight. Mortality was determined by comparing adult emergence in diets treated with crystals to emergence in untreated diets.
