Generalized Species Richness Indices for Diversity
Entropy, 2022 A generalized notion of species richness is introduced. The generalization embeds the popular index of species richness on the boundary of a family of diversity indices each of which is the number of species in the community after a small proportion of individuals belonging to the least minorities is trimmed.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
