Protective Effects of Potential Probiotic Pediococcus acidilactici 100 Against Multi‐Drug‐Resistant Diarrheal Escherichia coli Strains Induced Changes in Caenorhabditis elegans Model System

This study shows the protective effects of potential probiotic strain of Pediococci strains against diarrheal Escherichia coli strains in Caenorhabditis elegans model system. The E. coli strains resulted in severe morphological and physiological damage to the worm whereas the probiotic interventions were able to reduce these damages.

Climate change has rapidly expanded and shifted suitable climate conditions for eight major forest pests across North America, especially toward northern and higher elevation areas. Host exposure and overlap among pests are increasing, raising ecological and economic risks, and signaling accelerating future impacts under continued warming.

Studies have shown that the gut microbiomes of dogs exhibit greater similarity to those of humans compared to mice and pigs. In our study, we first compared the gut microbiomes of macaques, three dog groups, and two wolf groups to those in humans.
