Comprehensive analysis of Matrix Converters: Indirect topology

2014 15th International Conference on Sciences and Techniques of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering (STA), 2014
Matrix Converters (MCs) are developed to remove the use of bulky DC links in AC-DC-AC converters to achieve an adjustable AC-AC conversion system. Recently, different MC topologies have been proposed and developed which have their own advantages and disadvantages. Two main topologies of MCs are direct and indirect ones.

A Space Vector Modulation Scheme for Five-Phase to Three-Phase Indirect Matrix Converter for a Wind Power Application

2025 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, and Renewable Energy (AIESRE)
The main objective of variable-speed wind energy conversion systems is to adapt the variable frequency generated by the turbine to the constant grid frequency $(50 \text{Hz})$, while ensuring a balanced three-phase system in terms of voltage and current,

PWM algorithms for indirect matrix converter

Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2012
This paper presents a novel PWM algorithm for indirect matrix converter (abbreviated to IMC) is proposed. Generally, PWM algorithm for the rectifier is based on two larger source line voltages without zero vectors. In this paper, when considering the PWM algorithm for the rectifier, the inverter and motor can be seen as constant current load in DC link.

Experimental comparison between direct matrix converter and indirect matrix converter based on efficiency

2015 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2015
This paper presents an experimental efficiency comparison study between two different AC-AC converter prototypes: the direct matrix converter (DMC) and indirect matrix converter (IMC). The evaluation is performed under different load conditions and using discrete IGBTs at a power level up to 9k[W].
