Predictive Control of Neutral-Point Clamped indirect matrix converter

2017 Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2017
In this paper, a Neutral-Point Clamped (NPC) based indirect matrix converter is proposed in order to decrease the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the input and load currents. This converter produces three-level output voltages which are suitable for high-power medium-voltage applications.

Indirect Space Vector Modulation Based Three Phase Matrix Converter

2018 International CET Conference on Control, Communication, and Computing (IC4), 2018
Three phase rectifier and Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) are replaced by Matrix Converters (MC) in AC-DC-AC conversion in recent advancements. MC is an AC- AC converter having sinusoidal output voltage and current. This drive is superior to a conventional VSI. Usually a 3X3 matrix converter is used because of our load and supply is three phase. The main

Generalized carrier-based PWM method for indirect matrix converters

2012 IEEE Third International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (ICSET), 2012
This paper proposes the carrier-based PWM (CPWM) method for IMC with a fixed slope carrier signal instead of a variable slope. In order to verify the generality of the proposed CPWM, the correlation between the CPWM and the space vector PWM (SVPWM) is analyzed and the relationship between the distribution of zero vectors in SVPWM method and the type of

Modulation of three-level Z-source indirect matrix converter

2010 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2010
This paper proposes an actively controlled three-level Z-source matrix converter with capability of performing output voltage buck-boost, and producing sinusoidal input-output quantities. The converter is in principle realized by inserting a Z-source impedance network to the dc-link of the otherwise voltage-buck only indirect matrix converter (IMC ...

A carrier based PWM algorithm for indirect matrix converters

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
In this paper, the indirect matrix converter is systematically studied with the single-pole-multiple-pole representation. A carrier based PWM algorithm is developed in two steps. First, the continuous modulation functions for all the throws are derived based on the desired sinusoidal input currents.

A high efficiency indirect matrix converter utifizing RB-IGBTs

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
This paper presents the design and construction of an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) utilizing newly available IGBTs with reverse voltage blocking capability (RB-IGBTs). The design process involves the characterization of the RB-IGBTs by measuring the on-state parameters and the switching behavior in the rectifier stage of an IMC topology.

Comparison of losses between matrix and indirect matrix converters with an improved modulation

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010
Matrix (MC) and indirect matrix (IMC) converters are direct three-phase to three-phase power converters providing variable frequency and amplitude control of their output voltage. These converters are compact solutions which can be used on industrial adjustable speed drive applications for induction motors.
