Individual Tree Crown Modeling and Change Detection From Airborne Lidar Data
Light detection and ranging (lidar) provides a promising way of detecting changes of trees in three-dimensional (3-D) because laser beams can penetrate through the foliage and therefore provide full coverage of trees. The aim is to detect changes in trees in urban areas using multitemporal airborne lidar point clouds.

Tree-Species Classification in Subtropical Forests Using Airborne Hyperspectral and LiDAR Data
Accurate classification of tree-species is essential for sustainably managing forest resources and effectively monitoring species diversity. In this study, we used simultaneously acquired hyperspectral and LiDAR data from LiCHy (Hyperspectral, LiDAR and ...

Semi-supervised SVM for individual tree crown species classification
In this paper a novel semi-supervised SVM classifier is presented, specifically developed for tree species classification at individual tree crown (ITC) level. In ITC tree species classification, all the pixels belonging to an ITC should have the same label.

Individual Tree Crown Delineation Techniques for Vegetation Management in Power Line Corridor [PDF]
Remotely sensed, high spatial resolution images have great potential in assisting vegetation management in power line corridor. With the wide use of object-based approaches in remote sensing image analysis, individual tree crown delineation becomes a key research focus to improve the accuracy of plant information extraction.

Fine-grained individual tree crown segmentation based on high-resolution images [PDF]
The canopy of trees plays an important role in the ecological system of forest. Its cover, distribution, structure are highly relevant to the function of water cycling, carbon storage, and climate modulating of forest.
