Impact of Deforestation on Regional Precipitation over the Indochina Peninsula

Journal of Hydrometeorology, 2001
It is now widely recognized that tropical deforestation can change the regional climate significantly. The increasing population and the spreading deforestation in the Indochina Peninsula, especially in Thailand, make it urgent to assess the effects of deforestation on the regional climate.

Crustal structure beneath the Indochina peninsula from teleseismic receiver functions [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2010
We analyze teleseismic receiver functions to determine the crustal structure beneath the Indochina peninsula which is located immediately south‐east of the eastern Himalayan syntaxis basin. We found that the Indochina peninsula is characterized by a thin (∼31 km) crust with a low Vp/Vs ratio (∼1.68).

The seismotectonics of the Indochina Peninsula

Journal of Southeast Asian Earth Sciences, 1991
Abstract Data on earthquakes which occurred in the Indochina Peninsula during the period from 114 to 1988 have been gathered from local and international sources. This data set was used to investigate the nature of seismicity and seismotectonics of this region.

The Triassic of Indochina Peninsula and its interregional correlation

2000
In some basins of the Indochina Peninsula, the Triassic sequences are composed of all seven stages of the Triassic system. In some others, the sequences are more or less curtailed, and include only sediments of a few stages. In the studied region, one can distinguish two main types of Triassic sequences: 1) the type of An Chau Basin, where the Anisian

Role of the quasi‐biweekly oscillation in the onset of convection over the Indochina Peninsula

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 2007
AbstractThe characteristics of convection onset over the Indochina Peninsula and its possible mechanism are investigated using the reanalysis of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCEP/NCAR) and the black‐body temperature at the top of the cloud (TBB).

A Revision of Mucuna (Leguminosae: Phaseoleae) in Thailand, Indochina and the Malay Peninsula

Kew Bulletin, 1992
An account of the 13 species of Mucuna Adans. found in Thailand, Indochina and the Malay Peninsula is offered, with keys and distribution maps. Three new species, M. stenoplax and M. revoluta Wilmot-Dear, and M. thailandica Niyomdham & Wilmot-Dear, are described. One previously recognized species, M.

Interdecadal change in the relationship of Indochina Peninsula May precipitation to ENSO

International Journal of Climatology, 2020
AbstractThe present study detected an obvious interdecadal change in the relationship of Indochina Peninsula (ICP) May precipitation to El Niño‐Southern Oscillation (ENSO). During the 1950s through the late‐1970s, more (less) ICP precipitation tends to occur in May of La Niña (El Niño) developing years, whereas after the late‐1990s, more (less) ICP ...

A New Crustal Thickness and VP/VS Model of the Indochina Peninsula

Seismological Research Letters
Abstract The Indochina peninsula is formed by the collision of continental terranes, magmatic arcs, and suture zones due to the closure of the Palaeo-Tethys oceans during the Mesozoic and has experienced complex tectonic activities during the Cenozoic.

A Historical Examination of Inland Water Transport Routes in the Indochina Peninsula

Yixin Publisher
