Photochemical fluorescence activation in arrays of microspherical containers

Photoresponsive microdroplets can be produced with precise structural control from organic solutions of a photoactivatable fluorophore and aqueous solutions of a surfactant at a microfluidic cross junction. These dye‐doped microspheres assemble spontaneously in close‐packed arrays in aqueous media.

A luminescent PEI/Cy5‐citrate‐functionalized carbonated apatite nanoplatform combines biocompatibility, plasmid delivery, and Cy5‐based traceability. The system enables effective in vitro gene delivery while preserving cell viability and allows real‐time in vivo fluorescence tracking of the nanocarrier.
