Ten questions on indoor greening and environmental quality

open access: yesBuilding and Environment
While outdoor urban greening is recognised for its benefits, indoor green infrastructure (iGI) in shaping indoor environmental quality (IEQ) - including air quality, thermal comfort, and bioaerosols - remains underexplored. This ten-question paper identifies key challenges, opportunities, and research gaps in the iGI-IEQ nexus, organised under 10 ...

An integrated approach to indoor contaminant modelling

open access: yes, 2006
Air pollutants are those chemicals that are not generally present in the atmosphere because of natural causes but are disseminated into the air by human activity. In most parts of Europe, outdoor pollutants are principally the products of combustion from

Self‐Adaptive Non‐Flammable Wallpaper With Layered Bead‐Network Structure for Light Path Modulation Enabling on‐Demand Building Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A layered bead‐network wallpaper is designed to modulate the light propagation path, overcoming the color residue limitations of thermochromic components for efficient automatic switching between radiative cooling and solar heating modes. The layered bead‐network wallpaper provides passive, all‐season thermal regulation while offering self‐cleaning and

Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)

open access: yes, 2016
From the outset, Chapter 7 tries to explain what is understood by indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and the various factors that impact it, as well as the best current approaches employed to achieving optimum IEQ. The causes of building-related illness (BRI) and sick building syndrome (SBS), which appear to be on the increase, are explained and ...

A High‐Entropy Strategy for Chemoresistive Ethanol Sensors With Remarkably Rapid and Selective Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The configurational‐entropy strategy enables rapid and sensitive ethanol detection using a multicomponent oxide. The high‐entropy (InSnFeZnW)Ox provides enriched oxygen vacancies and diverse adsorption sites that strengthen surface reactivity. The sensor achieves a 5135% ethanol response with fast kinetics and stable long‐term operation.
