Indoor confined feedlots offer advantages that make them desirable in northern climates where high rainfall and snowfall occur. These facilities increase the risk of certain health risks, including lameness and tail injuries. Closed confinement can also facilitate the rapid spread of infectious disease.

Indoor space subdivision for indoor navigation
Proceedings of the Sixth ACM SIGSPATIAL International Workshop on Indoor Spatial Awareness - ISA '14, 2014There are a number of great attempts to develop an indoor navigation that provide the most optimal path and guidance. Finding a way in large buildings can be a challenging task. In order to represent the real situation to a maximum extent, a representation of the whole room as one single indivisible object is not enough as such representation is very ...

Fungi affect humans in complex ways and are capable of eliciting a number of disease responses, such as infectious, allergic, and irritant and toxic effects. Fungal exposure is unequivocally associated with exacerbations of asthma, although the role of fungi in causing the disease is yet to be determined.

Indoor-indoor and indoor-outdoor propagation trial results at 2.6 GHz
2012 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC), 2012This paper presents delay spread, coherence bandwidth, and angle-of-arrival statistics derived from an extensive MIMO channel measurement campaign carried out at a central frequency of 2.6GHz. The measurement scenarios include indoor-indoor, indoor-outdoor and indoor-outdoor-indoor.

Complaints in modern buildings have been attributed to inadequate ventilation for the last 20 years. Few data exist to support this claim. In fact, few studies have actually looked at ventilation and complaints at the same time. These missing studies indicate a failure of three groups of professionals, physicians and health scientists, architects and ...

Fast Fading Characterization for Indoor to Indoor and Outdoor to Indoor Channels
2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011This work models the fast fading characteristics in indoor to indoor and outdoor to indoor channels at 3.8 GHz. Starting from real world measurements, the fast fading characteristics are extracted and properly modeled, taking into account the nodes movement conditions.

Although official efforts to control air pollution have traditionally focused on outdoor air, it is now apparent that elevated contaminant concentrations are common inside some private and public buildings. Concerns about potential public health problems due to indoor air pollution are based on evidence that urban residents typically spend more than 90

The records of injuries that were sustained while playing indoor cricket were collected and reviewed. The most common injuries involved fingers and eyes and 50% of patients who were reviewed had had time off work. Some recommendations are made to reduce the injury rate.

Cats who are always kept indoors rarely, if ever, suffer physical injuries/wounds, get fleas or develop associated flea-bite allergies. These health issues can be costly in terms of a cat’s quality of life and cat owner’s time and money. Insurance claims for medical treatment for wounds have been identified as the most common type of illness in …
