Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of the Jingju syenogranites in the southwestern part of Zhejiang Province shows that these rocks were crystallized in the Late Triassic at 215±2 Ma, rather than in the Cretaceous as previously proposed. The Jingju syenogranites are characterized by relatively high K2O and FeO*, and low MgO.

We re‐examine several unconformity sites in northwestern Vietnam where the Indosinian orogenesis has been defined. Field observations in the Black‐River (Song Da) region, near Son La, demonstrate that red sandtones and conglomerates, reportedly of Cretaceous age, occur unconformably above schistosed epimetamorphic middle‐Triassic sediments.

The Xinxing granitic pluton is a large batholith cropping out in southern South China with its long axis parallel to the regional NE–trending faults. We conduct the first comprehensive study of zircon laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) U–Pb chronology and trace element chemistry, rock-forming mineral chemistry and ...

New Chronological Evidence for Indosinian Diagenetic Mineralization in Eastern Xinjiang, NW China
Acta Geologica Sinica, 2005Abstract There have been conflicting ideas about the Indosinian mineralization in E. Xinjiang, a subject that has attracted many geologists' attention over a long period. Isotopic dating shows that the Shiyingtan gold deposit located on the southern margin of the Turpan-Hami basin has a quartz fluid inclusion Rb-Sr isochron age of 237±9 Ma (95% conf.);

Indosinian Foreland Fold‐and‐Thrust Belt Bordering Yunnan and Guangxi, China
Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2001Abstract Recent discoveries of ophiolites indicate that there must be a Palaeotethyan geosuture zone bordering China and Vietnam, which separates the Vietbac block from the South China subcontinent. The Indosinian foreland fold‐and‐thrust belt bordering Yunnan and Guangxi provided further evidence for the palaeotethysides.

Abstract The structure of the mylonite belt in the southwestern part of the Ogcheon belt has been investigated and interpreted in the light of recent radiometric data. The shear belt is composed of several en-echelon dextral shear zones relayed by compressional or extensional tectonic bridges.

The Palaeo-Tethyan Realm and Indosinian Orogenic System of Southeast Asia
1989Southeast Asia is a composite of relatively stable blocks of Precambrian continental crust overlain in large part by Palaeozoic carbonate-dominated platforms. The blocks are sutured along highly deformed mobile belts characterized by deep water sediments and fragmented ophiolites.

Determination of Onset of Uplifting for the Mid‐Upper Yangtze Area Since Indosinian Event
Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2010AbstractThe onset of uplifting of the Mid‐upper Yangtze area is constrained by the combination of analysis of apatite fission track (AFT) age and modeling of fission track length distribution. The results show that the general trend of onset of uplifting is characterized by decreasing westward in geological time for the different tectonic units in the ...

The Khao Khwang fold-and-thrust belt, central Thailand, developed within a basin that formed on the southwestern margin of the Indochina block. Because of limited geochronological and provenance constraints, the time of deposition, sediment source location, and tectonic significance of the basin have been uncertain.

Abstract In the Indosinian period, the climate was scorching hot and the source of seawater was ample in Hubei and its neighbouring areas, so the basic conditions for the formation of evaporites were favourable. Under this prerequisite, the reason why salt deposits occurring in some third‐order tectonic units between the Jiangnan oldland‐upwarped zone ...
