ABSTRACT Aim To assess the validity of a modified Neonatal Skin Risk Assessment scale (Dev‐NSARS) for neonatal pressure injuries (PIs) in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and neonatal sub‐intensive care unit (NICU‐Sub) environment. Background Medical devices are the leading cause of pressure injuries (PIs) in neonates, a key cause of morbidity ...

Puerarin Acts Through Brain Serotonergic Mechanisms to Induce Thermal Effects
The present study was attempted to investigate the effect of puerarin, an isoflavone compound isolated from Pueraria lobata, on both the basal body temperature and pyrogenic fever in unanesthetized, restrained rats.

The study investigated the impact of the delivery method on the microbiome in mice, revealing increased intestinal permeability and altered gene expression in Caesarean section (CS)‐born mice compared to vaginal birth (VB) mice. Administration of Bifidobacterium breve or GOS/FOS partially mitigated these effects, suggesting targeted microbiota ...

Lesion Formation in Cardiac Pulsed‐Field Ablation: Acute to Chronic Cellular Level Changes
ABSTRACT As pulsed‐field ablation (PFA) emerges as a promising therapy for atrial arrhythmias, an understanding of the cellular injury to cardiac tissue is critical to evaluating and interpreting results for each PFA system. This review aims to detail the mechanism of cell death for PFA, compare the cell death mechanism to thermal ablation modalities ...

Sleep is important for cellular/humoral and behavioural immunity. In Drosophila mite systems, sleep deprivation reduced behavioural resistance against ectoparasitic infection. Sleep‐deprived flies exhibited lower endurance (negative geotaxis assay) and endurance is a reliable indicator of behavioural resistance against ectoparasites.
