Normothermia Machine Perfusion Is Associated With Reduced Transfusion Requirements, Improved Hemodynamic Stability, and Decreased Vasopressor Use During the Postreperfusion Phase of Liver Transplantation

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 40, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) has emerged as a valuable preservation technique, expanding the donor pool and improving clinical outcomes in liver transplantation (LT). Despite its growing adoption and reported advantages, the perioperative impact of NMP remains incompletely defined.

Modeling cerebral palsy in animals

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 158-174, February 2026.
Abstract Advancements in the treatment of cerebral palsy depend on animal research. Yet, most animal models have not been fully evaluated for spasticity and dystonia using clinically relevant measures of altered tone or movement patterns, which form the basis for diagnosing people with the condition.

Safety and efficacy of the therapy with CD4 + CD25highCD127‐T regulatory cells: When paediatric patient becomes adult

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 1392-1402, February 2026.
Abstract Aim CD4 + CD25highCD127‐T regulatory cells (Tregs) remain a drug candidate for immunotherapy of type 1 diabetes. We completed three trials testing Tregs in recently diagnosed type 1 diabetes children. Here, we looked for long‐term safety and efficacy aspects important in the authorisation of this therapy.

TRPM8 Regulates Mitochondrial Ca2+‐Dynamics, Temperature and Endoplasmic Reticulum‐Mitochondrial Contact Points in T Cell

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 3, February 2026.
ABSTRACT TRPM8 is a cold temperature‐sensitive and non‐selective Ca2+‐channel. Previously we have observed that TRPM8 is endogenously expressed and affects T cell activation process. Now, we report that TRPM8 regulates functions of mitochondria and ER, two important sub‐cellular compartments.
